Rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb
4th February 2016
They were discussing rhubarb on the Today programme at 8:30 this morning. A surprisingly effective radio report about rhubarb forcing in Wakefield, complete with buds popping and stems creaking into growth. It got me wondering about going to see the famous Rhubarb Triangle and a few Google instructions later, there it was; the Rhubarb Triangle Tours. Worth a day trip.
Auckland Castle goes from strength to strength
It’s fascinating to see how billionaire philanthropist Jonathan Ruffer is trying to rejuvenate Bishop Auckland by investing hugely in Auckland Castle as visitor attraction. He has already ploughed in £24 million pounds to buy the country seat of the Prince Bishops and he’s now looking to create an art gallery in an old bank.
I must also add that the tea room and food therein is superb!
A great story happening in our region.
